Here are some Imagine 2 generated images and animations (Well one anima-
tion in different formats really). The object and staging files used for
generating them should be in the Reader Stuff drawer if the editors know
what's good for them. ;)
A.24 & A.ham8
-------------
You have seen the 3D Nintendo logo a couple of hundred times by now of
course. One fine day I decided to try to do something similar with an A
(for Amiga of course), and... well, this is the result. Some of my as of
yet unrealized ideas involve using the shape as a spaceship (!) or, for
some reason, a spooky underwater structure (This is what I tried to suggest
in this test render, with weird (?) blue lighting and a fog effect). Or
maybe a skyscraper.
[A.24 is the original 24 bit (?) image generated by Imagine, I just renamed
it. A.ham8 is the same converted to Ham8 for faster loading. If you're
curious about how long it took to render, the original image should still
contain the Imagine timing chunk.]
Boing#?
-------
Ye Olde BB has been through a lot of different manifestions but I have
never seen it as an Imagine object (or any other kind of 3D object for that
matter) object, so one fine day I just sat down and whipped up one.
I don't know if there's an official number of segments a Boing Ball is
supposed to have, so I just created a default sphere and coloured in the
different faces to make something that at least looks like a Boing Ball.
Sue me. ;)
There are three files from this project here (hence the #?).
- Boing.24 is just one of the original 24 bit (?) images generated by
Imagine and renamed to somethingless anonymous that pic.0001
- Boing.anim is the "budget" version of the animation.I did this with
DeLuxe Paint 4 after some failed attempts with other programs. Just set it
to HAM6 mode, loaded all the frames and saved the result. It loops too, but
looks a bit funny unless you squint. ;)
-Boing1.anim is the fullfledged version that some of you may not be able to
run (That's why I include both). I did not have enough RAM to assemble this
in one go with DP4 so I had to do it in two parts, save the second part as
individual frames and add them to part 2 with MainActor. For some reason
doing it this way does not allow me to add loop data, so the animation does
not quite loop properly. (If you have oodles of RAM, just load the anim
into DP and save it out again, that should add looping automatically.)
Domino.pix
----------
Some stills from my domino animation. The whole animation can be found on on Aminet. (pix/3dani/Domino.lha - do not confuse with the OTHER domino animation someone uploaded once...). The story behind the project can be found in the file Domino.readme (found somewhere in the Reader Stuff drawer, I hope) which is identical to the readme file on Aminet.
(If anyone wonders, I did send (FTP) the animation to AF as well but got
no feedback and have no idea what happened to it... Those without net
access or Imagine will have to make do with the stills.)
